Ski Security

The Mission and Vision of the Mélanie Freiha Association were initially aimed at providing safety in sports, and in particular on the ski slopes where Melanie lost her life. Our efforts focused on prevention, security, and rescue to protect athletes as they engage in their favorite activities, with skiing as a primary area of attention.
What we achieved:
- Raised awareness about risky behaviors, the minimal skills required for practicing the discipline, and the quality and condition of sports equipment.
- Reinforced security measures through the implementation of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring their application.
- Trained technical rescue and first aid teams and provided them with adequate emergency equipment.
- Established a trauma center with medical standards, including a permanent medical team and its equipment in various facilities at Kfardebian, Lebanon. For this, we have engaged in collaboration with the "Lebanese Red Cross" to ensure ambulances were constantly present and ready. A database of doctors present within a close perimeter of the stations was also established, allowing them to report their presence and offer their skills in the event of an accident.
